- On the last night of the three day event, know as Woodstock, held in Rome, New York, at Giffiss Technology Park – a decompressed Air Force base – many people have said that a riot occurred. But in reality the real riot happeneds of the course of the three day event, not as a single chaotic, explosive event but as a slow-motion disintegration of the chains that might hold 225, people together.
- Woodstock Woodstock was a rock music festival that took place near Woodstock, New York in a town called Bethel. The festival took place over three days, August 15, 16, and 17, 1969. The original plan for Woodstock was an outdoor rock festival, “three days of peace and music” in the Catskill village of Woodstock.
- Woodstock was a microcosm of the 60 s era reflecting the music, sexual activity and attitudes of the youth. The three days of peach and music introduced some of the greatest songs and musicians of all time. The concert also exposed new experiences for the youth in attendance such as drugs, and ideas (sexual behavior and behavior towards authority and old ideas).
- Their original odea was to have it in Wallkill, New York, but the residents objected so greatly, that the site was then taken to a farm about eight miles outside of Bethel, N.Y. , population 3,900.
