- Though taken for granted by many, co-sex educational institutions for higher learning are really just recent occurrences. For the most part, colleges and universities, particularly elite ones, taught either men or women. The reasons for this separation date back to early American history, when a woman s place was seen as in the home.

- More and more women are rising to the leadership challenge, even in some of the most male-dominated industries. The increase in the number of women attending university, in the workplace or starting their own business has demonstrated to men who own businesses that women can be both managers and mothers, thus showing their male counterpart that women can in fact “do it all”.
- This is the same for Germany. The men realized it would not be possible for them to continue their wartime efforts without the help and support of the Nazi women. World War I was a turning point in American history for women.
- In this country women have the ability and choice to create their own lives, own businesses, become what they ve always dreamed, speak their minds, or balance a family and a career. If we put in the effort we are able to accomplish all a man can accomplish, or maybe even more.

Nevertheless, starting the eighteenth century, some women started showing their dissatisfaction with their unfair conditions. They came to realize that since they were human beings, then they must have equal rights as men.
- Some people believe that for men and women to be equal they have to be the same. Regardless of tradition, strengths, weaknesses, and honor we to be somehow pushed into themold of sameness. Part of that effort is for some to claim that women have to be allowedinto active combat roles.
- A hot topic in today?s business culture is eCommerce. Experts argue about whether eCommerce will change business, whether or not it is a fad, and what viable strategies there are in a business world that is changing at the speed of idea generation. One thing that nobody argues about is the fact that eCommerce oriented companies have stock prices and market capitalizations that are enormous.
- Women are only slightly more successful in reaching the highest levels of business today than they were in the colonial times. With the start of the twentieth century, more and more women carry the desire to have a career outside the home. They would like to get out in the real world and be independent.
- Women have little to no options, as there are few professional women’s team. The NBA and the WNBA are examples of a professional sport that both men and women have there own league. The biggest difference in the leagues is that the NBA players make extremely larger salary than the women of the WNBA.

- “Policy making does not happen in a vacuum. Decisions about land rights, unemployment benefits or child protection are made by real people in particular historical settings and under pressure from a wide range of individuals and organisations” (Dalton, Draper, Weeks and Wiseman, 1996, p.
- Affirmative action today, is considered to be one of the most controversial dilemmas facing our equal status of individual rights. As we all know, affirmative action was implemented with the idea and hope that America would finally become truly equal.
- The views of John and Abigail Adams, as well as Benjamin Rush, illustrate the different opinions regarding equality. John and Abigail Adams have animosity relating to the subject of equality. My interpretation is that Abigail Adams believes that women should be recognized in the republican society.
- The idea of women at work during World War II was not utterly new. In the previous years of World War I, women were nursing sisters, volunteers, and there were even some women in the Navy. Before ?the war to end all wars?, work was considered a man?s job.
- Due to the changes in society and increasing financial demands on today s families, more women are compelled to take on careers, rather than stay at home. There is much debate on the subject. Some argue that a mother s presence at home is necessary for the proper development of children.
- (University of Michigan, Korn/Ferry International). What this means is that at the present rate of increase, it will be 475 years – or not until 4 before women reach equality with men in the executive suite. This scenario is not any better on corporate boards.
- As time goes on and western culture becomes more advanced – or more liberal – depending on who you talk to, the answer to the question of whether work is a basic human right and if it should be accepted in society that women take more of a role in the traditionally male workforce changes.
- Throughout history equal rights has always been a major issue in the United States, and around the world. People have fought and even died to protect their rights and the rights of others in this country. Most people assume that colored citizens are the only one?s that are affected by the lack of equal rights, but that?s not true.
