- Dr. King is the one individual who brought us a keen awareness of the issues of civil rights for all citizens of America. Martin Luther King, Jr.?s historical importance has been stated not only by the creation of a national holiday in his honor, but also by the growing public and scholarly interest in his life and teachings.
- A man once had a dream; a dream that all people could exist together in peace and harmony. This man was Martin Luther King Jr. King was a dedicated civil rights leader of the 1950 s and 60 s. He had many great achievements in his lifetime that influenced the lives of so many people.
- To many people across the globe, the United States of America appears to be a place where one can be proud of. America the land where dreams come true and there is always a chance for any person to succeed. People who are not from the United States have been painted a beautiful picture of what life in our country is like.
- Originally, the ‘Dream’ was envisaged to be life in a new world where anything successful can happen and good things might (Hochschild, 1996). In 1963, Martin Luther King Jnr said that he too had a dream “that on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood” Video: The Legacy).
- After reading an epic entitled Beowulf, a connection between the main character, Beowulf, and another great man in history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., unfolds. - As a child, and even up through high school and college, the Kennedy boys were in constant competition with each other, whether it be scholastic achievements or a touch football game. They were competitive in everything. Robert lacked in physical stature, and intellect, unlike his brothers.
- When W.E.B. Du Bois announced in his marvelous work Souls of Black Folk, that the “problem of the 20th Century is the color line . . .” immediately he set out a social and analytical paradigm that instantly recognized that the major racial problem in America was that existing between Blacks and Whites.

- The road to equal rights for African Americans has been a long, hard and treacherous road and even still similar occurrences plague the American Nation. Several prominent African Americans have historically become strong leaders in the fight to bridge the racial gap.
- The Maintenance of Ducal Authority in Gascony: The Career of Sir Guy Ferre the Younger 1298-1320In the letters patent by which Edward II informed the constable of Bordeaux that Sir Guy Ferre the Younger had been appointed to the seneschalsy of Gascony, the king clearly articulated that the seneschals primary responsibility was to maintain the jus et honor of the king-duke throughout the duchy of Aquitaine.
- In reviewing the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the study of the Old Testament seems to be almost non-existent. It is not until his time in Tegel Prison, nearly one year prior to his execution, that he fully commits himself to serious thought on the subject ?My thoughts and feelings seem to be getting more and more like those of the Old Testament, and in recent months I have been reading the Old Testament much more than the New (Bonhoeffer, Letters, 156).
- Martin Luther King spoke peaceful non-violent speeches. He also rallied boycotts, sit ins, and public marches. X, as in Malcolm X, was also a leader in the civil rights movement. He was an ordinary African American man until he went to jail. In jail he meet a man that taught him a lot about the world and turned him to Muhammad, a religious leader.
- Many social changes that were addressed in the 1960s are still the issues being confronted today. The ’60s was a decade of social and political upheaval. In spite of all the turmoil, there were some positive results: the civil rights revolution, John F.
- The momentum of the previous decade’s civil rights gains led by rev.Martin luther king, jr. carried over into the 1960s. but for most blacks, the tangible results were minimal. only a minuscule percentage of blackchildren actually attended integrated schools, and in the south, “jim crow”practices barred blacks from jobs and public places.
- Although Stokely Carmichael was not the first to use the phrase ?Black Power,? he was the one who made it famous. Carmichael was a widely renowned man of his generation and the Black Power Movement, and his presence in the fight for African American equality in the American mid 1900?s is a role of unforgotten importance.
- When you?re in the military, you?re presented a salute upon which respect and dignity imply. Unfortunately, this wasn?t always the case. All of that was hastily forgotten. He ?barely missed a court-martial? and was honorably discharged shortly thereafter (Davis 1).
- MALCOLM X INFLUENCED MANY of the leaders; who sought to give guidance to the grassroots militancy of the black power era. However, his intellectual legacy did not bridge the divide between black leaders and mobilized black masses. Despite his rhetorical support for black militancy, Malcolm himself did not lead a protest or insurgent movement.
- Now these beliefs are commonly shared across U.S. society. Another initially outlandish idea that has come to pass: United States citizenship for women. 1998 marks the 150th Anniversary of a movement by women to achieve full civil rights in this country.

Many of the problems that faced Malcolm X also faced many African Americans of his time.
