- In the last 10 years, there has been some scientific leaps concerning diabetes, and genetic engineering. The increasing incidence and diagnostic detection of diabetes worldwide coupled with changing trends in the food animal market stimulated people to seek alternative sources of insulin completely independent of an animal-gland source.
- An experienced cameraman was capable of filming an entire film at approximately the same speed, yet often variations were made in the recording speed for dramatic effect. Decreasing the number of cranks, for example, exposed fewer frames and thus when projected at the standard 4 frames created the frenzied action that characterized much of the Vaudeville cinema.
- In the book Toting a Gun for Tomorrow by Jonie Michel, a fictional world is created where it is an accepted fact that youth violence occurs, and where teens kill teens in large numbers. The main idea in this book is that changes need to be made in order to deter teen violence, and when these changes do not occur chaos erupts.
- Introduction The Earth’s climate is the result of extremely complex interactions among the atmosphere, the oceans, the land masses, and living organisms, which are all warmed daily by the sun’s enormous energy. This heat would radiate back into space if not for the atmosphere, which relies on a delicate balance of heat-trapping gases including water vapour, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane to act as a natural “greenhouse”, keeping in just the right amount of the sun’s energy to support life.
- In the 1800 s, most things were done using manpower, not machines. To plow a field it used to require a team of horses and a plow. To make butter it required a hand churn. Life was simple and people depended on themselves. In the 1920’s the automobile was a very important technological machine.
- In our modern society, technology has impacted out lives in almost every aspect imaginable. Our life style has become one of the new eras, dealing substantially with strands of new technology each day. Today, many households contain at least one personal computer.
- Many people do not get yearly check ups and that’s how it gets out of control. Glaucoma effects only % of the population. If people over the age of 1 would go and get themselves checked then most people would not have to deal with the major effect which is blindness.
- In the six hundred years that have passed since Johannes Gutenberg first was first credited with inventing ?movable type?, periodical literature has become a multi-billion dollar conglomerate that rivals no other. While some may argue that it was actually the eleventh century Chinese publisher Pi Ching that devised such a system, it is no doubt that advances in technology are responsible for the growth of magazines, and in many cases, magazines are in part accountable for the growth of society.
- In the past, when people had psychological problems, neuroscientists would often wrongly jump to the conclusion that something in the persons past was to blame. Nowadays, scientists know more than ever about the growing field of neuroscience. In The Brain-Mind Connection: A Quarter Century of Neuroscience , Beth Horning discusses the future possibilities for this growing field.

- In the decades after the civil war, American industry transformed itself into a new wonder of the world. Now, one hundred and twenty five years later, society has thus further evolved. As the knowledge of fiber optic cables, microprocessors, silicon chips and operating systems has expanded, we embrace a technological era in which computers seem to be superior and play a larger role in our everyday life functions than it has many years ago.
- In the science fiction movie “The Matrix” people are ruled by Artificial Intelligence (AI), machines made by men to make life easier on the human race. This form of industrialization has also begun in our world today. We have given birth to a host of machines that think for themselves, hoping they would make our lives easier and less taxing on our bodies.
- For the purposes of this essay I have chosen The Terminator, a science fiction B-movie feature from 1984. Although I intend mainly to study this purely as a single film, I do intend to study Terminator 2 in addition, thus making the essay a study of the series.
- Thinking in the philosophical terms of “good” and “evil,” nothing purely “good” can survive without the slightest taint of “evil,” and vice-versa. The same standard exists for everything. Just as you cannot always succeed by being purely honest, a government cannot hold itself together without committing it’s own personal rights and wrongs.
- Carbon dioxide (CO2) is responsible for more than half the human contribution to the greenhouse effect, and concentrations have climbed steadily from around 280 parts per million at the dawn of the industrial revolution meaning 0.028 percent of the air s volume is taken up by the gas to around 355 ppm today.
- The technology which surrounds almost everyone in the modern society, affects both work and leisure activities. Technology contains information that many would rather it did not have. It influences minds in good and bad ways, and it allows people to share information which they would otherwise not be able to attain.
- Since we live in the most advanced technological world, organizations world-wide are discovering ways to enhance internal and external communication, using Web technology in a new type of information system called the Intranet. By using this feature, with inexpensive software and minimal manning requirements, our organization can establish a secure and reliable Internet, a one-stop centralized system so that our aircrews can retrieve necessary data when they return from their extensive duty travels.
- In this paper I plan to defend the position that impact of technology on the society has far more positive sides than negative. One could not possibly imagine how a life would be without a TV set, automobile, birth control pill, etc. Technology is what makes these goods available for us to enjoy at our discretion.
