- First published in 1937, Of Mice and Men is an American based novel by John Steinbeck. George and Lennie are two ranch hands that travel together, with George watching over the mentally inferior Lennie. When they start work at a new ranch, several different characters are introduced.
- John Steinbeck was one of Americas best writers when it came to writing about people migrating and looking for the American dream during the depression. John Steinbeck was bor in Salinas, California. This place where he was born would later become some of the settings in his stories like “Of Mice and Men”.
- In terms of emotional stability, there is only one thing in life that is really needed and that is friends. Without friends, people would suffer from loneliness and solitude. Loneliness leads to low self-esteem and deprivation. In the novel, Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, the characters, Crooks, Candy, and Curley?s wife all exhibit some form of loneliness.
