- Cyrano insults 48 people including the Marquis. He duels a man named Valvert and kills him. Cyrano also hears news that a friend would be killed that night. Next, Cyrano goes to his friend’s house and saves him by fighting off over a dozen men.
- While reading Cyrano de Bergerac, I found myself often wondering whether or not Cyrano had led a happy life. Actually, I never once wondered that, but that is irrelevant, because Cyrano?s happiness is the focus of this essay. Was he happy? Truth be told, I cannot say for sure.
- Edmond Rostand was born in Marseilles, France in 1868 and he died in 1918. He was an author who mainly wrote romantic plays, mostly in verse, that provided strong roles for generations of actors. Rostand’s first drama was Les Romanesques, and it was produced in Paris in 1894.
- In an effort to attract the audience of today, the producers of the movie Roxane retold the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rustond in a way that is appropriate and at the same time appealing. In order to give the audience of today a story that they can understand and relate to, the producers have adjusted and manipulated the play itself.
- Cyrano De Bergerac The story begins at the Hotel de Bourgogne in the year1640. Christian de Neuvillette attends the theater with a man called Ligniere in hopes that this man can identify the woman he has fallen in love with. Ligniere identifies the beautiful lady as Roxane, cousin to Cyrano de Bergerac.
- The dictionary definition for a romantic hero is someone who is usually colorful, attractive, and surpasses the average person in every way. Once in an era there is someone who is colorful, and surpasses everyone in all ways except for their hideous deformity.
- In this play Cyrano suffers the consequence of a tragic flaw. Cyrano speaks with Roxane after speaking with Christian and finding out that Roxane has really fallen in love with him and not with Christian.
- Cyrano tries to be more than he is. From Cyrano?s first scene to his last the reader gets an impression that Cyrano is trying to be more than he is, and trying to do more than he can. Even though, in the long run he ends up doing these things well, the reader still gets an impression that he?s trying to boast about his abilities and, ?blow his own trumpet.

- His confidence is refreshing, and his words are profound, in addition, he is a gentleman. He has such an unique personality people either love him or hate him, but never would they want to cross him. The Cyrano character is a great characeter because he has so many layers, but the common man can still relate to him.
- When analyzing the various personae exemplified in the novel Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, it is evident that each character changes throughout the plot. The characters Roxane, a beautiful, intelligent, love-seeking woman, Christian, Roxane s young lover who is terribly afraid of the spoken verse, and Cyrano, the distant cousin of Roxane, who happens to be in love with her, all changed throughout this play, in all cases for the better.
- In the play of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, many forms of love are shown through each character. Cyrano, Christian, Roxanne, Le Bret, De Guiche, soldiers, and Rageneau are characters that showed their love for someone who they love. Also loves have many different significant meaning in my mind.
- In Edmond Rostand?s play Cyrano de Bergerac, there is a man. A man of many talents, Cyrano. A man of wit, pride, and poetry. In the people he comes in contact with he displays he many great talents. He helps his friend Christian win the hart of a lovely woman.

However, if we examine the play more carefully, we would find that Cyrano is personally responsible for his downfall; his constant aspiration for perfection and excessive deception eventually leads to his death.
